
Hans Wegner is a Danish designer who started as a cabinet maker and went on to design several important examples of mid-century modern design. Wegner studied at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts and the Architectural Academy in Copenhagen. He went on to work under world renowned designer and architect Arne Jacobsen before embarking on a successful independent design career.
Hans Wegner worked extensively in chair design from the late 1940’s to the early 1960’s. Creating many noted pieces, Wagner’s work can be found in the permanent collections of MoMA and the Die Neue Samlung in Munich.
